2023 Musings

Hello! I’ve been away from here for a little bit, so I just wanted to share what I’ve been thinking about.

I began this blog back in 2009. I named it Jenna’s Wonderland and it was mostly about scrapbooking. I was deeply inspired to get my life and my family’s lives put down on (12 x 12) paper, and I wanted to share what I was creating. This hobby was my focus for many years.

Then, I went back to school to gain a more formal arts/design education, and my hobbies changed. Around late 2015, decorative planning was taking off, and it gained my full creative attention. It was a creative, relaxing hobby, not that much unlike scrapbooking, but it actually served a practical purpose too. It helped me get organized and also served as a memory keeper for me.

I tried so many types and formats of planning, and loved all of them (even if just for a minute lol). Several years later, I know what works for me planning-wise, and I am hesitant to change it up like before- if it ain’t broke you know…

My creativity is evolving yet again. I still love to take photographs, and actually do something with them. So, printing them out and maybe adding a decoration or two on a page is enough for me right now.

I’ve grown older and found that decorating on a larger scale, i.e. my home, is where my joy and creativity lies currently. So, I archived my early years from this blog, to kind of refresh this space for me. I don’t want to permanently delete anything, as it’s another form of memory keeping for me of my creative life. But, I want to continue to grow and share what I like and who I am becoming.

My tagline, With Grace & Feathers, really represents me at this time. A lot of things change, but I still have my faith and believe in living with grace. And, of course, feathers represent my feathered flock who have been with me through it all.

I hope you enjoy the direction I envision for this space. I’m still me, living in my own wonderland, just using a larger canvas these days.

xo, jen
